Isopod Starter Kit — available in 7 qt or 15 qt vented tub
Everything you need to get a healthy isopod culture started or to upgrade an existing colony. Each kit arrives in a vented plastic tub sized to your choice (7 quart or 15 quart) and includes:
Generic substrate: A balanced soil blend that holds moisture and supports burrowing behavior without added fertilizers or pesticides. Provides a stable base for isopod activity and microfauna development.
Leaf litter: A generous layer of mixed, dried hardwood leaves to simulate a natural forest floor. Offers food, shelter, and camouflage for isopods while encouraging beneficial microbial growth.
Orchid moss: Light, airy moss that helps retain humidity and creates surface texture for isopods to explore and hide in.
Cuttlebone: A clean piece of cuttlebone for calcium supplementation to support exoskeleton development and molting.
